December 7 -- Day to Remember

Gives me chills thinking about the guys banging on the inside of the ships pleading for help that were never rescued. What if the American people were needed to cut back and ration items so more could go for a war effort. I don't think it would go over well in today's society. Man what a generation than came before us. They were Patriots, Real Men, Real Women, Heros as I try to stifle tears typing this. People need to thank God for the selfless people who serve.

My Father served in WWII. His family farmed about 100 miles south of St Louis. They heard the news on the radio that day. He and his brothers and some of their friends all hopped a slow freight up to StL and enlisted. Mostly in the Army, but one Navy and one Marine. Dad volunteered for Jump School, and went thru D-Day in the 82nd Airborne. Then across Europe...

We serve our Country, and we do not need to be called.
