Dec 7th 1941 - remember?

Today we pay tribute to our fallen heroes at Pearl Harbor and pay tribute to the Greatest Generation, the one that saved the world. Thank you!

I have not seen this on the news have you?

I remember listening to Roosevelt on the radio declare war.

Bob

The local covered mentioned it. So about three sentences. Google of course mum is the word. Fox news has mentioned it a few times. The history type channels have covered some stuff.

December 7th 1941, a day that will live in infamy! I was just 9 months old. I remember that in 1944 we rode "The General" from Chicago to Baltimore. My Dad was stationed at Aberdeen. When he went to North Africa, we moved back to stay with my grandparents.
Did you ever notice that there is almost no mention of Pearl Harbor Day on the main stream news or on MSN? Is it because of ignorance, stupidity or malice?
God Bless America

I was 7, my two uncles left within months, one at Guadalcanal, etc. one a Naval blimp sub chaser, my brother was on an air craft carrier quad 50 gunner,

I remember!

Today is special in a lot of our lives.but I think you have to be over 50 years old to know what the day means. The left has done everything they can to change or not report history the way it took place. But,I don`t want to crawl in the pig slop, just say a prayer to honor the brave at Pearl Harbor and the men and women that followed on to defeat the aggressors. Amen Jeff

I wasn't born when Pearl Harbor took place, but as a youngster it certain was a thing to remember. Then I got married. My father-in-law had been caught on the Bataan Peninsula and survived the Death March, the Hell Ships and 3 years in mainland Japanese prison camps. Came out 68 pounds with no teeth.

He hated the Japanese and hated Roosevelt for providing all the support to the European Campaign first instead of supporting the troops in the Pacific against the people who actually attacked us.

In 1980 I bought a Japanese car, I don't think I have to tell anyone what he thought of that.

Today we have a new generation that 9/11 holds more currency for. We are now allies with Japan and so many are allowing that terrible day to fade somewhat. With almost the same loss of life and less and less survivors, I kind of understand the shift. I recently revisited the Hiroshima Museum while spending a couple of weeks in Japan. Was interesting to see that Japanese kids in the equivalent of our 6th grade have required field trips there and a lot is said about the wrong that Imperial Japan did upon the world. Pearl Harbor, Nanking etc.

I don't see how the left (though I lean to the right) is really causing this. A lot of Democrats fought and died in that war. Tonight I am in Manhattan (New York) and I will go to my local watering hole, which is filled with democrats and liberals, but mostly in the over 60 age group and I will guarantee you that the discuss will turn to Pearl Harbor and it will be a bunch of American's praising our forces and condemning that attack, not a bunch of liberals saying that it didn't matter.

My Grandfather was on the USS St Louis. I wasn't even a thought at that time, but I'll never forget some of the stories of the hell he lived. I'll never forget the tears that would form in his eyes when he was talking about the friends he lost either. It's the biggest reason that I do my best to never buy anything made in Japan. Who really needs them.....

2,403 American's died on December 7th 1941. A terrible thing to happen to the USA. A sneak attack. Around 2,800 in total.

When the first few days of July rolls around, lets remember the 51,114 American's that died in three days, another fateful battle for the survival of the United States of American that no longer seems to get a lot of press. Must be that left wing conspiracy to hide History. Don't seem to remember a special day for Gettysburg.

Fire Bombing of Tokyo - Some where around 410,000 civilians killed. Two atomic bombs on civilian targets, about 175,000 civilians killed initially but no real clue as to how many died of radiation poisoning etc. Now that the freedom of information act has released the relevant files, it is interesting to see the real reason we dropped those two bombs.

Lets all take a moment to hope for an end to war.

In 1969 my daughter was born on Sunday Dec 7. I was a PO1 stationed at Moffett Field, CA. at the time.

Neat-o.......on Dec 7, 1966, my daughter was born! I was an A-Detachment Commander, Company C, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), 1st Special Forces, Okinawa. She has been one great daughter, after we naturalized her to US citizenship!!!

Chris Berman just acknowledged our service men for their heroic acts of Dec. 7th. Mike Tirico also did a segment about it too. Very cool to do that on Monday Night Football.

December 7th and a PM from someone commenting a year later on my last post regarding Pearl Harbor reminded me of a neighbor I grew up next door to as a kid. He had been a Chief Petty Officer in Pearl Harbor and on the 6th of December went out drunk and was caught coming back onto his ship, the Arizona. He was on a punishment painting detail when the raid happened and fell into the water and survived as he was not sleeping below decks. Funny how things can happen.

I had not even posted from my war. I think there are now 58,286 names on the wall with the most recent additions. And like Korea, not even a declared war. I am moved every time I walk the wall and saddened when seeing the names of many friends that all believed (or mostly) in our government.

ALL OF THE ABOVE REASONS FOR THE LAME STREAM MEDIA NOT COVERING PEARL HARBOR DAY. THE MIND DISEASED LIBERAL ZOMBIE DEMOCRAPS DON'T HAVE THE COMMON SENSE TO REALIZE THEIR PARTY HAS BEEN HIJACKED BY THE SOCIALISTS.
EXPLAINING ANYTHING TO THEM IS LIKE TRYING TO OPEN A DOOR AND HAVE THE KNOB COME OFF IN YOUR HAND.
THE "FIGHTING FINEST GENERATION" ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY ROLE MODELS.
IN 1950 I WAS STATIONED AT PEARL HARBOR FOR SHORT TIME. I FREQUENTLY VISITED MY UNCLE TOMMY'S GRAVE, THE USS ARIZONA.

All of the tinfoil conspiracy theories about the media suppressing Pearl Harbor stores are highly amusing. I read them with my coffee.

Keep them coming!

when we lose sight of the reality that in the heart of all men there is a gigantic evil, a brokenness, that can and does grow into a festering grab for power, we lose sight also that there remains a good in us that reflects the creator. From both sides of humanity comes ideas, and ideas matter. We were blessed that our government, for 150 years, upheld the brighter side. Today we seem to have slipped into the denial of all things bad in human nature, to the point that we refuse to acknowledge evil, even when it is staring us in the face with bloody knife in hand. Worldview matters. In our grandfather's day our nation was attacked by just such an evil government and thought process. God bless those who recognized the good our nation represented as an extension of the ultimate Good, and gave their very lives to defend that idea.

May our service members be blessed and may those who died for us rest in peace.

Do not understand the comments about news coverage. Major nation news coverage. Mike Pence there visiting with the old warriers. Many ceremonies and interviews with those left after 75 years. Near every news source, local or national, I saw had major coverage.

Even heard some talking about Obama not being there and not sending anyone. Now of course, he will be there to play golf December 27th ( at YOUR expense)and meet with the Japs then. They can all go and play with their little balls.
