:) I have 25rds down my 6.5 saum running 61.5grs of h1000 with a 140gr hybrid @3000fps groupng yesterday was .312. I really like this rd and believe my tube will last over 2000rds because im not a match shooter. Here is a link for alot of good info on the 6.5saum: http://forum.snipershide.com/snipers-hide-bolt-action-rifles/185807-new-gap-extreme-hunter-6-5-saum.html

Going off this guys load, I do believe the 6.5 saum will last quite awhile.
I've had 2 friends that shot them, one got about 1700 accurate rds out of his tube, but was running Norma MRP2, at around 3000fps. I fully can't fathom why H1000 would be easy on a throat, but people are swearing by it ;)

The other shot his barrel out in 500 rds, running 140's at 3400 fps, go figure. He wasted the barrel shooting groups breaking it in to send off to nitride the barrel. I will admit, a high bc 140 at 3400 is one mean rd out to 1 mile.

I do question the sustained rate of fire that any load out of this overbore will handle though.

Good call slow it up and get the barrel life. And just have a spare bbl in safe..

SLR and the 260 almost the same.I have a 260. I also have a 6.5-4s and yes you can probably burn out a barrel in 600 rounds if you drive 140s at 3500fps,but if you slow it down to 3100-3150 it will last a long time I got 2000 rounds down mine so far and all looks good!!! GO TO SNIPERS HIDE READ TILL YOU GET SICK OF IT,there lots of good info there!!!

Does anybody have any dies they want to sell??

Redding actually makes a set, but it's a custom offering, not sure if available in current times.

Not sure of other makes, but you could get by with a Redding Type S Match 7mm SAUM die set. Just run regular seat plug, not vld, and bush it accordingly.
That's really all Copper Creek will sell you anyway, but their die sets come with 7mm vld seat plug, to me not needed, the reg one is already way bigger than needed.

There was a set of these 6.5 dies for sale on the Hide, I'll research for you.

Yah I don't see any 6.5 4s die and I don't see any 7mm saum dies anywhere that I can get a bush die in there. Not available

Call on this one. No one is going to list 6.5 4s dies for sale, really don't get that crap, 4s???
Before you jump on the saum bandwagon, research the brass situation, Rem hasn't made any 7mm in 3 years, Nosler crap and Norma prices are out there. I don't buy Norma makes Nosler either, sure doesn't look like any Norma product ;)

For deer the SAUM is the clear choice, or even the p-dogs that are out of range for a mid range rifle (1k+)

People shoot p-dogs at 1k+?

That's some phenomenal shooting!

I bet more people shoot AT prairie dogs a 1k+ than actually hit them. First off, not many range finders will even laze one at that distance, so without a marked field?

Anyway, I doubt is a morning proposition if you stumble upon a town ;)

Well if that's what you think, then why don't you have a come look see for yourself and I will give you a few lessons in how to shoot some dogs correctly.
