de-priming tool

I polished down a Lee "Universal" decapping die several decades ago that worked fine. Eventually had to turn the main shaft down too for .19 and .20 calibers. I see they now sell an undersized flash hole pin for $3. Try Titan Reloading (back door to the Lee warehouse).

You can spend is much as you like.... Polish a lee decapping die and while your at it order a few replacement decap rods and you will be g2g for a very long time.... I don't like paying alot for something so simple... If you do decap before cleaning , check you flash holes before installing a new primer....

Have a case holder (with hole, maybe Lee) and a punch. Doing it since day one
Freshly fired brass and a whack with hammer on the punch.
Gets me to handle and inspect brass for the 1st of a few times
No debris going in any die, and into a vibratory tumbler
Really slow but I am never in a rush. Turned my own punches but just really use the small flash hole one for everything.
Don't load pistol anymore just BR rifles

I keep spare decapping pins/rods for all of my decapping dies. In my experience the Redding, Lee or Mighty Armory pins will eventually bend or break.

Jeez I just use my resizing die with the depriming pin set very long. Pops the primer out without touching the rest of the case. Just don't over work the press handle any more than needed. Works for me on 6mm Creedmoor SRP and 223 Rem (SRP) brass without any additional expense.

Lee's Universal decapping die is cheap and will last your lifetime. I use a dedicated bottom of the line Lee press so the primer residue doesn't damage and dirty my good presses. Mine has been going strong for 30+ years. The press is shot, but the decapping die still works fine.

MightyArmory PUA decapping die, but used with the 0.057" pins. (Get several extras, just in case.)

Reliable, durable, smooth. I like this die quite a bit. Like you, I prefer to decap the cases prior to cleaning, and I'd prefer to do so with a die instead of a hand decapper. The MightyArmory unit works really well.

Get the one that contains them. I hate stepping on them at the range. Gets in my shoes and in my truck and home.
