That is fantastic. Another great memory made in the field and her smile is priceless.

If we had more kids like her, and dads like you in the world it would be a much better place. JMHO. WD

Thanks
Beautiful young lady. My daughter loves the deer meat but hasn't been to interested in hunting. I don't push it but hope she tries. I have several good rifles for her to try.

Thank you everyone. What I did is started having my oldest daughter who shot the deer start shooting targets with a 22 and I bought her a Pink KSA single shot to get her even more interested in the rifle. She thought that was the coolest thing in the world having a pink gun. I am working on this with my other Daughter now who is 6 and I bought her a KSA 22 in Muddy Girl camo and again she thinks that is just cool she has a pink camo gun.

After target shooting I just would causally mention hunting rabbits, gophers or squirrels and both my girls wanted to shoot a rabbit. That was my oldest daughters first animal was a rabbit and my youngest daughter wants to take a rabbit as well and will be shortly in the next few weeks hopefully. Once they start taking small game just gradually move them on up to deer and bring them along on your hunts. That really seems to help when they get out there and see what it is all about before they hunt themselves and you start teaching them how to spot deer and look for sign. I hope your daughter takes interest in it there is nothing like watching your child learn how to hunt and spending time with them in the field.

That's awesome. Yes, the smile says it all.

Have a similar story with my daughter. Treasure the time and the memories.

My 4 boys grew up,outside. They all started very young with shooting sports.Somewhere there's a pic of the youngist in pull up diapers shooting his <5# Black Widow (we made it for him). The best part was we were at the largest trad bowshoot in the country (Denton Hill).

The line of shooters was 50+ yards long,3-4 guys deep. They all were patiently waiting and watching him shoot his bow on the "50 yd line"....his target was only about 10' out in front. Then it was commence fire.

Boys are naturally interested in throwing rocks, chasing each other around. It wasn't till my first Gdaughter that I figured out how dang good girls/women do with archery. She's 7 now sports her own pink recurve and is so confident, and so tuned in on shooting it's uncanny? If I had daughters, would snag them archery equipment.Do the research, archery and women....pay attention to how it used to be pretty much required sport in college, back in the day.Much more so than men! There's a reason for that. They have a natural ability for the sport?Nobody told me,figured it out once the Gdaughters showed up.

Best of luck with your babies, errr young women.

It is a great gift to teach a child to hunt&fish. She looks so happy and proud as she should be ,great job to both off you.

Congratulations on her first deer. That is a very proud young lady you have there. You should be very proud of her.
Great to see young people taking up the sport. There is so much more to be learned than just the shooting and hunting aspect of this. There is responsibility, precision, confidence and a sense of pride that will carry on for the rest of their lives.
