Daughters First Buck

My oldest Daughter who is 11 was able to get her first buck ever on Christmas Eve and used her bow to do it.

All she wanted for Christmas was a deer and she got her wish.

Thank you everyone we are both very happy to say the least. One thing I would like to say is for other parents looking at getting their kids in Archery is ignore the KE numbers and what the internet experts say. Her setup is a Diamond bow with a 21 inch draw and weight of 35lbs.

I have her using my old Easton FMJ arrows and with her 100gr Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts the arrows weigh 450 grains. She is shooting her arrows at 121fps and her KE is low. She has taken 3 deer total with this setup at 11, 14, and the buck was 18 yards. All broadside shots and all the arrows have stopped just about at the fletch with all the deer.

Picking your shots and that sharp broadhead and arrow weight is what matters and the Magnus is the sharpest broadhead I have ever seen and really opens deer up.

Thanks again everyone! As for getting the deer mounted her Grandpa is the taxidermist and her buck is already there.

That will be another special memory for her that he is the one that did the work on the mount. Happy New Year Everyone!
