Dasher to BRX

Hi all,

I'm new to this site and was hoping someone with more wisdom then I could answer a question. I am currently making a hunting rifle for my daughter, chambered in 6mm BRX. My problem is that I cannot find 6mm BR brass anywhere. However, I am able to find Dasher Brass (wierd huh?). My question is: can I run the dasher brass through my BR die to make BRX brass, or would this just collapse the shoulder?

The Dasher brass on Bullets.com, would need to be trimmed to length, other than that it would work fine.

Norma Dasher Brass is also about .001" smaller at the base. Have you considered just making it a Norma Dasher?

I ran a dasher case thru my brx die and it went fine. you will end up headspacing off the body/shoulder junction.

The BRX 30º die will not push down Dasher 40º shoulder as it will not touch it at the datum line.

The Bullets.com F-Class Dasher brass will work after you trim .050 in length and full length size it for your chamber fit as it will heads space on the shoulder at the case wall shoulder joint and not the 40º datum line.. It will still leave a 40º shoulder at the datum line after sizing and when you fire it (when correctly sized to fit your chamber), the firing will take it back to the correct 30º shoulder angle .

Once you get your brass you will love your 6 BRX. I have been shooting a pair of them in competition for 6 yrs. A large percentage of the rifles I beat are Dashers,LOL. I just like to pick on the Dasher guys because there are so many of them. You will not need a ton of brass if you anneal often. I have brass that has been loaded over 50 times, works just fine.

I talked to one of the Reps at the BSWN, he told me that 6BR brass would be arriving shortly which should fill all the back orders. And that a second shipment should arrive in March or April if I remember correctly. He advised that Lapua did a double production run. I'm holding off, not going to pay the price of gold for brass

Sorry for the late reply, but thank you all for the info. I decided to go ahead and get the dasher brass. I thought that it was a good price and will fit my needs. Plus, it gave me an excuse to load up on bullets for my big bore;-)
