Dasher or 243 variant

Does everybody think the dasher has enuf gas to do what I want or should consider a larger case. Taking a barrel down to get chambered on Monday. The barrel is a #5 1-8 krieger for the 105's. I'm thinking a new dasher but I'm always open to suggestions. Wanting a long range coyote / target rifle for up to 1000 yards. I have a Dan Dowling trued 700 action ,or a single shot Stolle atlas . Leaning towards the 700 as I can make it a switch barrel with my old 6br barrel throated for lighter stuff. Also the fact it's a repeater.
I'll have Dan ream out an old Wilson seater die to what ever cartridge I end up with. I'll still need a good sizer die. Any advise on dies would be great, full ,neck, brand.
This is all going in a McMillian A5 with a jewel trigger and a leupold on top. Would like to find a detatchable mag that would feed good, or I'll just use my old bottom metal that works ok.

Sounds like I have the gun you are looking for! 6x47 Lapua. Don't get me wrong, I love my Dashers but the 6x47L gives you an extra 100-150 FPS and no fireforming. I just got mine completed and it shoots lights out. I am running a 1 in 8 Brux #5 with 105grn hunting VLDs at 3170. For a die I would buy a 6.5x47 Redding FL Type S with the appropriate bushing. This way you have the option to use it in the 6.5 in the future if you wish and in the 6mm. But yes the dasher will do everything you want it to...

The Dasher will do what you want, But the problem is getting it to feed from a mag :'(

Mine feeds if i get everything just right from a Rem mag.

Never had any problems with dasher feeding just make sure you have good extractor best shooting long range coyote gun I have ever had and most accurate gun I have had . Built on a model 7 Brux #4 1-8 22" barrel Berger 105's @ 3000 fps

OOOOh , this one depends ......... Is your rifle set up for a small or large primmer on the firing pin ? is it just for the occasional yote , or is it going to need to clear a field of fuzzy stuff ? I would go with a straight 243 over something that has to be fire formed . Do you want to try and find your brass , or go and get your pelt ?

105s at 3000 out of a 22" tube will lay some hurt! And be handy for a hunting gun too. If getting a barreled chambered is no big deal go with the fastest round your action will work with. That being said, a dasher is usually very accurate and easy to load.

If you hit what your aiming at you'll have all kinds of time to pick up your brass because the pelt won't be going anywhere

How much speed will I realistically be missing against a 243 sitting in the middle of an accuracy node . I don't now if the 100 feet per second is worth the berrel life. I will have to do some ballistic searching to see the difference in drops at 600 ( my main range for yotes) . thanks for the info K Redden

My Marlin X7 Dasher feeds fine and with 1 in 8 Rock Creek 8 twist is dead nuts accurate. Coyote load is 35gr RL15, 87gr Vmax at 3240mv. Barlow

Build a .243 with either a 30* or a 40* shoulder, get a detatchable mag and matching bottom metal, and go for it.
