Dasher on a long action

Sold my Dasher and thought for a winter project I'd make a switch barrel F Open rifle that was 284 Win and Dasher. Besides the longer throw I cant see any reason the Dasher would take an accuracy hit just because its in a long action....thoughts?

Understanding that the 284 was originally a SA, my question was the opposite Dasher on a LA any wild reason people have had problems with that. I cant think of any.

Even if the bolt throw was 6" longer the case is gonna come out when it gets to that point. Extra length cycling is on you whether you long stroke it or do as donovan said and put in a different stop

totally agree....but thought I'd ask...how do u set up the second bolt stop? A buddy and myself do all are own work so I have a mill, lathe and access to cnc wire edm anything I need but curious on that setup. just never seen it.

Several ways of course, but a good way is to drill & tap in a Sinclair style (link and picture below).
Srew in and out easily for long or short action demands.

Ok so do I have the odd action ?

I have a Bat M
It ejects the 6.5x284 & 6.5x47L cases just fine.
But the dasher cases stay in the action.

You need a knowledgable br gunsmith to tune your ejector. They can make them roll out the side or collect in a solo cup 3' away

I'd guess you have a sliding plate extractor.....

alf nailed it. I was in the same boat, and built a 6.5x284 on my model M. Decided I wanted to try a Dasher and it was a bad experience, I finally found out it was the sliding extractor. I called BAT and they were kind enough to swap bolts with me. This was many years ago, and policies may have changed.
