Dasher loads with 110smk?

Looking to try 110 SMKs in a dasher 7.5 twist f class gun. I know it’s a stretch as far as capacity and twist rate and I have other bullets to try if this won’t work.

What would be best? Rl15, h4895, varget? What charge range should I try?
I have a brx barrel too. Would those starting loads be the same and would that be better for this purpose than the dasher?

What speeds am I likely to get?

Thanks!

I had 4 Dashers. In 2 of them I shot the 108 Berger B/T. The 108 has a VERY long bearing surface. I could never get more than 32.2grs of Varget in there before I got a stiff bolt lift. One of them, the load was 30.0 even and the other was 32.2.. The bearing surface on the 108 is considerably longer than on the 110SMK, and it's only 2 grains heavier. The bearing surface has more to do with pressure than 2 grains ever would. If I were going to try it in the Dasher, the first stop would be RL-15 and see if you could get to 32.5grs. If you can do that without any pressure signs, my bet would be at least 2950f.p.s. The same would go for Varget. I believe that H4895 would be a smidgen on the fast side, costing you velocity. Remember the biggest reason for using the 110SMK is it's extremely high B.C. numbers. So to gain the most from the 110, velocity, along with accuracy, would seem to be in order. If I were to try that combination, I would try VV N540. You could probably go to 32.7 and if you did, you would be sailing past 3000! All you can do is try and see what happens.

RL16. Start around 34.5. .010” off. Can go 3000+ although I shoot a low node in my BRX at 2900 even.

I shoot them in one Dasher, 34.0 gr of RL 16 @ 2920fps, 27" barrel. It has a short freebore and the bullet is contacting powder using a drop funnel. More room, more powder with more freebore. I have no way of judging pressures generated, but I have to be on the lower end, in colder temps I'll gas a couple shoulders from a box of 50.

I don't want to highjack this thread, however, I have a question for you. I just had a 6 Creed spun up and I am working with RL-23 and the Berger 115VLD. I have a 30" / "straight" 1-7 barrel. I intend to try the 110s with RL-16. Have you worked with the 110s alot and where have you found them to shoot accurately as far as seating depth is concerned? I know you have 10K OFF for your suggestion. Is this "generally speaking" where you find them to shoot.

They don't seem to like around zero (+/- .005). I had one rifle that shot very well at .018" in and my current Broughton 7.3" is maybe the best of the bunch at .010" off.

What kind of speeds were you getting with RL23 and the 115 Berger? I had a 6x47 with a dasher top end on it, 6 Creed capacity, and never could get any speed out of it w 4831 which is very close to RL23 (115DTAC's). RL16 worked out well in it. I did end up going to 110SMK's in it, the one that liked .018" in. It held excellent waterline at 1K.

My 6 Creed, using the 115 VLDs, is going 3150 with 42.8grs of RL-23. I believe you could get very close to 3100 with the DTACs and RL-23 in your 6 x 47L..

I run that same combo.
+26" Kreiger 1-7.5twist w/110SMK. I run 30.4gr of Varget, CCI450, Lapua brass, 10-15 thousand jump, 2850fps.
Works great for me, holds vertical well.
