Dasher chamber question for the experts

It's fairly even Tim, I don't suspect anything is off axis or otherwise wonky. New Lapua touches at the base, but to a very minor degree, just enough to detect a touch, certainly no scraping. I have all new brass slated for this new barrel. Was going to fireform in my old barrel, but if I could get away without rechambering this barrel if I don't it'd be worth the wear and tear on this one. Might try to put a few loadings on a few pieces of brass as is, and prove to myself if whether or not I'm going to experience function issues before I get it rechambered. I'm a little short on both time and gunsmith funds, so if I can press it into service as is that'd certainly be my preference.

I've experienced this with my PPC one chamber just a shade bigger in the back than the other. Sucks when you are trying to use another barrel to fire form like you want to do
I have went on with new brass formed in the tight chamber and it function fine.

I almost bet if his die doesn't size the other brass, it won't size brass shot in the new gun. Either he needs a new die that will or redo the chamber. Matt

I have a rifle with very silmilar issues, is there a way to hone a thousandth or so out of the back end of chamber? I may be way off but just a question.

even though a correctly sized die will reduce sized case so that it clears you will find that the brass wants to spring to original case diameter at best you will likely get clickers or grabby cases prematurely. i would also recommend that said gun builder soften or break the entrance edge to chamber to eliminate blemishing your cases and case mouths.

I have a similar problem with a 260 AI. It is just tight at the base. I shaved down the bottom of my FL die a bit to tighten it up and also use one of those small ring dies from P Bike. It is a PITA, not the right way or the easy way but it does work. Problem with my shortened die is that it is also bumping the shoulder back a little more than it should but if I don't it wont chamber freely. I am struggling with this also but found a work around.

I had a friend hone the inside of 45acp carbide die out to the perfect size to make the click go away. Works like a champ!

Thread is 8 months old guys, and Carl has been kicking butt and taking names with his Dasher so I'm sure he's got it figured out by now.
