Dasher bbl length

So I have read on here that 28" is probably optimal, however is that for mid range 600yds?

What disadvantage does a 26" one have at 600 or even 1k yds?

The main disadvantage is, if it's an really good barrel you can set it back 2" and you are at 26". If it's an exceptional barrel you can set it back 2 more inches and be at 24"……. If it's an average barrel, it will better be left to fire forming……… jim

Speed is also a factor. I am running a 34" 6br and my average FPS is 3000fps (2995-3000fps) with RL15. I would say you could pick up a good bit more velocity with the 6 Dasher.

I think you have no trouble hitting 3100 with Varget in a 28" barrel. So what do you gain by going longer because it doesn't shoot good at that speed……… Drop back to 3000 - 3050 and it gets way better and ES. is low and groups are small……… jim
