Dasher again

I just went on the equipment list........ ist in the light gun overall ..... a Dasher,1st in heavy gun over all is a Dasher..... jim

Sorry, I had planned to use my Dashers and had my light Dasher on the ready line for the first target, but decided to switch to the last year's 284 Shehane due to low visibility. I got a 4.112/48, so decided to stay with it. On heavy, my Dasher was shooting well all year, but in the last moment decided to stay with my light 284 S. There were many great shooters and anyone could have won.

Light gun 1st. over all ,Doug Rumbaugh and 1st. over all in Heavy gun was Scott Weber, Both were Dashers according to the equipment list and Henry was Two gun high over all You guys did well with all the heat and humidity...... congratulations ....jim

Thank you. I feel very humble and honored being in the company with so many great shooters. I respect all the shooters there. My rifle was on for that match. This does not mean that I am the best, just blessed. If I can help anyone, let me know.

Henry,

First congrats on your big win.

If you have any photos and more info from the match, please pass it along. We're trying to do full reports on all the IBS nationals.

Yes pictures please.

And if you can tell us a but about your rifle - the Dasher is in my future, probably my first build.

My light and heavy Dashers both outshoot my 284 Shehane. The 284 started out so good that I stayed with it. My Dashers have BAT B actions, Bartlein and Brux barrels, Shurley Brothers Tru Trac 5" stock with a 3" rear plate. I use Spencer bullets with 32.5 light and 32.8 gr. heavy of IMR 8208. The primers are CCI 450's. I used a Fulgrum front rest and a Protektor rear. The 284 Shehane uses a BAT B action, Bartlein barrel, Berger 180 VLD's, and Shurley Brothers Tru Trac stock. 52.5 gr. of H4350 and CCI Br 2 primers completed the load. I use a K&M press with a force measurement device, seating the bullets at about 20 pounds for the Dasher and 35 for the 284. I use graphite in the necks. I anneal each winter. Other people have other procedures that work well. Try different things and see what works for you. Hope this will help.

I just joined the forum to congratulate Henry and share some of the photos I took at Nationals.
Not certain of photo size limits, but I'll start with a pic of the Champ.

Hat's off to you Henry!

Indeed, congratulations on the hard work and perseverance that it takes to be the champion.

If you don't mind, could you tell us a bit more on the graphite you are using in the necks of your cases. What particular graphite do you use and how do you apply it?
Thanks.

I use Imperial dry neck lube applied with a bore mop. One dip does 9 cases easily. It prevents metal to metal contact allowing the bullet to seated smoothly. It also prevents welding, so loads stay good a long time. Even seating pressure allow even release when firing.
