Dan Armstrong Bolt welding

Been a few years but I had him do a bolt handle on my XP 100.:cool:
Then, shipped him a couple of new Savage scope mounts.
Had him cut them apart, piece and weld them together to make me a "Custom Made" mount that matches ALL the holes and didn't cover the port on either end.
Can't tell it from new factory made. :D:D
Better than any mount I've ever seen. Thank You again Dan.:cool:

Some of us "OLDER GUYS" that have years of welding experience, some machining experience , have started to mellow out. I know I have ( fortunately) used to get pretty hot really quick. Dealing with the walk in public was not for me. I have done business with some of the guys here on the forum ,and I understand why they do what they do. Unfortunately one question answered leads to another. I can deal with business by e mail, or text, most are 1 man operations, some have 4/5 guys in the shop, and could use 4/5 more if they could be found. UNFORTUNATELY some really talented craftsman have been doing their trade for so long lots of them are burnt out and " it's my way or the highway " Even when you are doing something you love to do, after a while it still becomes a JOB.

Everyone have a great day.:)

NO I watched this forum and saw what he posted when someone else posted about easter quite a few years back. His went out of his way to insult the poster and if he did not like what was posted he could have said nothing and it would have been way easier to ignore than to insult like Dan did. I am sure that one day I will have to explain my spreading of the gospel, or lack of, but I am sure I won't have to explain it to Dan or to you.

I have no idea what originally happened, or what was said to who. I have no problems with a person's religion, or beliefs. To condemn one for that is obviously not correct. I have learned you have your ways of doing things, and you are certainly entitled to your beliefs. That sir is part of what makes our country great.

If we dont agree on something, we will agree to disagree. As I said earlier I am glad I mellowed out.

However from what I see from your post .
Sir are you doing now what he could have done then, and said nothing.

Everyone open a huge can of. MELLOW OUT, & Enjoy a Marvelous Monday

If the gunsmith, or mechanic, or machinists, or whatever does a good job they will be busy, if they are excellent in what they do they will be covered up and way behind on delivery time. Most all will work the jobs in order. Once they let me know when to expect it done , I leave them alone.

Just shipped a barrel back , with written descriptions of the problem, he has already gave me an ECD on completion, be patient We all think our project should have priority, The good ones are busy, you can usually tell the best by how far behind they are. ( or you found the laziest)

Big bottle of chill pills

The gunsmith probably has other jobs ahead of yours. Your job needs to have written instructions on what needs to be done. Verbal communication can get things messed up. Your job is very important to you. You should hope it goes so smoothly your gunsmith does not remember it 6 months from now.
Oh, written instructions were included. My friend is no neophyte.

I am sure that one day I will have to explain my spreading of the gospel, or lack of, but I am sure I won't have to explain it to Dan or to you.
You don't need to explain SQUAT to me.
Don't like Dan OR the way he does business? Don't do business with him.
Leaves more room and time for the rest of us. :D;)
Matthew 7:1-5, but I guess it's hard to be humble when you're so good??

You evidently have trouble reading. I have no trouble at all with the way Dan does business. I posted that I had him on ignore for years because of his insulting attitude to another forum member. I also posted that I totally understood his attitude toward customers that want the Spanish inquisition in connection to an hours work. I am in total agreement with him giving instructions to potential customers and not wanting to work with them if they can not follow the instructions. I am not judging Dan I am ignoring Dan so that I am not tempted to interact or judge him in any way. I am not good I am a sinner saved by grace that knows almost nothing about Remington bolts. Dan knows more about Remington bolts than any person I know. On a scale of 1 to 100 Dan is a 100 and I may be a 5 or 6. I can get one into the raceway but a Donny and Jim can attest I sometimes have trouble getting one out.

Only advice i can give is follow his instructions to the letter and forget it. Dont try to ask questions, or communicate at all. If you do what his website tells you to youll get your bolt back perfect. He doesnt need your action, or any other parts. Its a different way of doing business and if you dont adhere to his protocol he will tell you to put your bolt in an uncomfortable place.
He ripped me off. Welded the wrong bolt handle on and told me to cut my Eliseo chassis. I just bought a new bolt. He was a total jerk.

Btw- my gunsmith took the measurements and sent it in.
