That's my motto:"Smoke a pack a day"

All right. That one took a minute for me to get. Pack= wolf pack... Smoke...
Yea, I'm pretty slow on the download..

What a great hunt! That is certainly a once in a lifetime experience.

Hi Rod,
Yes, Lisa is going with. Right now Lisa and I are in negotiations with regards to who is shooting what. That wasn't the dinner conversation I was expecting last week! She started out not wanting to shoot anything, then she just wanted a zebra for pillows and a purse. One zebra has turned into two, and possibly three. Now she wants to shoot a waterbuck, an impala, and a vervet monkey. By the time she gets done with me, I will be lucky to just shoot the lion.

Congrats on the awesome hunt and 4 wolves is very cool. Do you happen to know the age of that big male? I saw a skull from a alpha the other day that way aged between 10-12 years and it was huge, crazy how big the teeth were and how much the fronts were wore down from chomping on elk bones. It the pic there is a huge difference between the 2 males to say the least. Have heard that howling can be very effective for them as well, looking forward to trying it out here and smoking a pack a day. With 5 tags a piece could be kinda fun. Congrats again on your hunt and good luck on your next adventure.

I turned the collar over to a couple Alaskan Wildlife Troopers when they landed in camp with their helicopter. They gave me the contact info for a biologist and additionally the young Fish and Game lady who tagged my hides in Fairbanks offered to help also. I sent the collar information to both of them but have not heard back. I will give them another week and retry.

This is the most accurate hunting rifle I own. I ran three other rifles through the bench but wasn't satified with their performances. Regardless of the bullet/powder combo, none shot to my expectations. Part of that is my fault. As an F-class shooter, if it doesn't put 5 into one small hole at 100, I am disappointed. 1 to 1.5 MOA looks like crap when you get spoiled.

I doubt I will ever get into a situation again where the single shot will be a handicap but the Surgeon long action sitting on my desk that was slated for a 284 Shehane hunting rifle may just become a 6.5-284 repeater. I am looking forward to the LR Accubonds in 6.5 to be produced.

My 284 Shehane is built on a 1086R and it's performance meets your criteria! I hope you go for it!
