CZ trigger springs

Anyone know where to buy replacement springs to lighten the weight on a CZ 457 MTR? The Yo Dave ones are quite pricey. $15 plus $9 shipping ???? Thanks .

ACE hardware old No. 144 spring will get it under a pound pull. BUT they renumbered their spring part numbers. Does anyone know the new stock number. I did my changeovers years ago. I believe either Graniger or McMaster-Carr has the same spring. Can anyone help the OP with the part numbers. I have not ordered from either one.

457 spring has a smaller id than the 452's, not sure about the 455'. My extra 452 springs didn't fit inside the trigger hole on the 457. Here is what I measured for the 457 and a photo of the CZ vs. YoDave.

CZ / YoDave
OD: 0.146" (3.7mm) / 0.140" (0.356mm)
Length: 0.375" (9.5mm) / 0.375" (9.5mm)
Wire Dia.: 0.03" (0.7mm) / 0.018" (0.45mm)

Gentlemen, thank you for your input. I measured my CZ spring to compare with the ones 45ACP223 posted above.

My OD, 0.1445”
Length, 0.3615”
Wire Dia. 0.029”

Sunday I met “johara1” for the first time, to make a purchase that we’d arranged. He proved to be a wealth of information, years of experience and a genuine gentleman. I mentioned my spring dilemma. He promptly produced a spring assortment and checked them with his caliper. He found two that were very similar to what I needed. He then dropped them into a plastic bag and wouldn’t take a dime. Once again, I’ve met another new friend through this website. There are so many great folks here. ..........Thanks again, Jim.

Wish that I could get mine closer to that.
If your going to be in this game for the long haul like I have been, order a spring stock assortment from Brownells. Select the appropriate stock, clip the proper length and have what you need from good material not the junk in a Bic that changes over time. The time you save from hunting springs will make it a worthwhile purchase.

Thanks for the info , JEFFPPC. I was fortunate to meet a gentleman who hooked me up with good springs from his assorted stock. Thanks to him I was never forced to try the BIC spring. My trigger is still around a pound.

Thanks, shooterjohn. I decided not to pay a total of $24 for the yodave spring. I had another gentleman hook me up with a couple springs.

Okay, folks. After fairly exhaustive research, I have info regarding trigger springs for the CZ 457. I ordered springs suggested by some responders to this thread. None were satisfactory. They actually increased my trigger’s weight to above two pounds. Through a detailed discussion with a shooting friend and local gunsmith that has done work for me, he decided to order two different sized springs. The problem was that they had to be ordered in quantities that were far more than I would ever use. He said that he would just have these in stock once his order arrived. Here are the closed end springs that will fit the 457 trigger.

Jones Spring company, Springs that fit, CO5-18-12, CO5-16-12 , CO5-14-12 . From personal experience, the CO5-18-12 increased the weight to over two pounds. The other two “should” be lighter because the middle number refers to the diameter of the “music wire” these are made from.

Disclaimer : This is information I’ve discovered through my own research. I make no recommendations. I’m just sharing information. Good Shooting, everyone.

Spring #2 will get you to around a lb. Number one depends on how well you to the polish work.
