CZ Model 527 Issues With Ejecting

Hi All, I have a very accurate CZ 527 in 7.62X39 M/M, which recently developed an issue with ejecting fired cartridges. The fired cartridge cases pull easy out of the chamber but remain on the bolt, thus not "Kicking" the fired catridge out of the action. This rifle is very well taken care of, so it's not a dirty action problem. Just wondering if anyone know why this CZ 527 is doing this, and what I can do to get it to eject fired cartridges normally. <Thanks>

Check the little Mauser extractor, if you got it used somebody may have worked on it so it would snap over the case to feed single shot.
Could be just time for a new extractor.

Interesting. My 527 in 223 didn’t need any modifications to close on a single fed case. I’ve read on line that it can’t be done, but I have single fed thousands of single fed rounds. It also runs through the magazine, extracts, ejects very well.

If got some that won't snap over the case untill I worked on them. Mainly it was putting little more angle on the extractor.
My 527 20PPCAI won't feed single shot only out of mag box

I'm racking my brain because I don't know exactly how the 527 works but, I'd have to say it's the ejector. It's either dirty or the spring is bad. I think maybe if you put a drop of oil on the ejector plunger it might work.

Here is some pics on my bolt that is for my 20PPCAI which is a 7.62x39 bolt without a case and both sides of the case in the bolt

Davers put a case on the bolt and see how much the ejector is over the rim of the case
I should add that a live round ejects normally, it's the fired case that stays on the bolt. I'll check to see how much rim the ejector covers. <Thanks>

You could have hit on something here, my brain was thinking 700.
The ejector for a 527 is in the bolt release, at the end of pulling the bolt back as this lever in the bolt release passes through the groove in the left side of the bolt it essentially knocks it out of the bolt so it probably would be a good idea to take out the bolt release and clean everything, but I wouldn't oil anything just clean it.

Number 31 is the lever im talking about.
If you could find a new spring #32 at a hard ware store might be a good idea just to replace it while your at it.
Spring #28 is just for the bolt release.

I checked the ejector this afternoon and cleaned it. Then I placed a live round in the chambered and it ejected fine. Next I tried a fired case and it also ejected. When the weather clears enough for me to do some target shooting, I'll see if the ejection issue is solved. <Thanks>

Yessir! I took it home new in the box.
I had to work on the extractor on my 17 Badgers to get them to feed (snap over the rim) single shot without the clip.
Maybe CZ changed there extactor angle after I got mine.

Correct me if I am wrong, but am I seeing many comments on the extractor when the ejector is what is causing the problem? As far as I can remember, the ejector hits the case head to kick it out of the action.

I had a 527 in .223 that I used as a truck/deer gun. A guy just out of college worked with me and every other weekend, I had to hear a story about him, or his dad tracking a deer. I lent him the 527 and explained that shot placement was KEY to success. Three deer dropped in their tracks later, he wanted to buy the rifle....and I sold it. Who knew CZ would discontinue them?

Many millions of Mauser 98s & other similar repeater bolt rifles have the same type ejector that pivots on spring pressure out of the bolt stop area and slides through the slot in the left side of the bolt in order to kick an empty case out of the ejection port when the bolt is retracted. The CZ527 is simply a mini-Mauser in this respect. I had a 527 carbine in 7.62x39 years ago that I bought as the basis for a custom rifle chambered for the 6 RAT, only because I couldn't find another small action chambered for the 6.5 Grendel at the time. Never had any issues with ejection after re-barreling for the RAT, but didn't like forcing the Mauser style extractor to snap over the case rims when attempting to single load rounds loaded with 105 bullets, which were much too long to fit in the magazine. I was told that eventually, the claw extractor would probably break if subjected to this treatment. So when Howa came out with their Mini action in 6.5 Grendel, I bought a bbl'd action, pulled the Grendel bbl, and replaced it with a Krieger light Palma contour that I'd chambered for the 6 RAT, and went happily down the road, since the Howa is a push feed action like the Rem M700, with a spring-loaded plunger ejector. I eventually sold the 527 RAT to a friend, and I still miss that little rifle, as the Turkish walnut stock had a bit of attractive tiger stripe figure, and it fit me just right as I brought the rifle up.
