CZ 527 - Upgrading the Bolt Knob

oso did I read your post right your rifle had the newer cz bolt and it’s a Kevlar ? I thought the newer style came out around 2017 and Kevlar were discontinued years before that.
reason I ask is I’m trying to get my hands on a newer bolt handle for my Kevlar but not having any luck

Sorry for any confusion. I have two CZ 527 in Kevlar stock. The first is an early model CZ 527 .223 Varmint that came from factory with the HS Precision stock, the second is a American that I rechambered in 300BO and purchased a B&C Kevlar stock for it. For past +10 years B&C has been providing the Kevlar stocks that CZ uses on their factory rifles. The HS Precision and B&C stock are identical in dimension and finish. The only notable difference is the recoil pad on the HS Precision stock says HS Precision in the rubber.

A couple of years ago I bought a replacement bolt handle directly from CZ's website for like $50. My understanding is the new MTR's may feature a threaded handle knob. Not sure if there are any other modifications to the bolt handle that would prohibit/interfere with it being used on earlier model CZ527. Give CZUSA a call and speak with one of their technical guys.

He may have put a newer barreled action in an aftermarket “Kevlar” stock; Bell and Carlson still offers them, but not sure about HS Precision, who I believe was also a vendor for that stock when C-Z offered that Varmint variation. I have one of the original Kevlar 527 rifles, and I ordered a new-style handle for it from CZ first thing after buying it used. Was surprised how slight the difference in the bend radius and length between the original and new one was, but it was enough to give clearance between the scope’s ocular bell and bolt handle when lower ringmounts were used.
Also, if you can’t find a newer handle, you can always send your old-style one to James Calhoon for a re-bend. Was under 40 bucks several years back when I did that.

Edit: Looks like the OP answered your post before I did.
I was wondering about that MTR handle, too....

Thanks for the info guys.
I called cz a week ago after getting an alert the handle was in stock but only to be sold out when I checked. This happened the following day as well so I was pretty frustrated as the alert I had set long time ago.
I picked up the Kevlar 204 used after trying my friends on prairie dogs. Took a while before one popped up on gunbroker but got it and have scope and rings but bolt hits the ocular.
indont want to go higher on the rings as I like being right on the rifle
Oso if you decide to sell the newer style reach out to me
