CZ 527 trigger replacement

How many of you that own CZ 527 have changed out the trigger ? What did you change it to and how do you like it ? My 527 is a 22 Hornet. I really don't care for the set trigger.
Thanx again,
Dave

i personally never had a problem with the set trigger...actually never used it any...however i never did care for the skinny trigger shoe...so i purchased one of those wider trigger shoe covers that slips on current trigger then has set screws to attach it tight to the current trigger shoe..i loved the thing after that

When I had mine, I disabled the set trigger and did some adjustments. It can be tuned and bit, have you tried that yet?

I have tried to adjust the trigger ... made it a little better. I was thinking of getting one of the rifle basix triggers. Amy thoughts on those ?

My experience with rifle basix you can never get rid of all the creep. I have had better luck with timney, but not sure if they make on for cz. I had my smith work on my 527 trigger and also only use the first stage, its probably around a 1pd, and works great

I really didn't care for the set feature in mine. It has been awhile since I changed it, but IIR I tried to adjust it and found the spring was too stiff. I replaced the spring with a lighter one and was able to adjust the trigger to a perfect pull weight for me.

It really feels like a custom now, and has not been a problem in any way for many rounds. I don't have a trigger pull gauge so I can't measure it, but it is much lighter than I could have adjusted it with the stock spring.

I put a Rifle Basix in my 527 204 and like it much, better than the SST no, creep and breaks like glass at 1lb. on my Lyman digital scale. :)

I have 2 527 in .223 varmint kevlar stock. On one the main trigger set at 1 lb. no set trigger. The other I have the main trigger set at 2 lb. with the set trigger at 8 oz.I can"t under stand why anyone needs a after market trigger on this rifle..

I had bought a used 527 in a hornet that had some trigger work done to it and it was the nicest factory trigger I have ever shot . So light and crisp it shot better than the single set did. FS

Bought one of the 7.62x39 carbines in order to get the same boltface as the PPC/6.5 Grendel, then rebarrelled it for the 6 RAT. I was never happy with the set trigger in my 527 - couldn't get it adjusted to suit my tastes, so I ordered one of the Rifle Basix triggers from Sinclair. Nothing very difficult about the swap, and the new trigger is excellent, with not a hint of creep, and a clean break at 1lb. I'd do the same thing in a heartbeat if another 527 happened to find its way into my hands.

I have to agree wirth JDY. I also have two 527 Varmints in 223. I've had great luck at adjusting both guns so that the triggers are far better than anything else I presently own or have tried. Love my CZs!

I just got a CZ 17 Hornet. Trigger had creep when I got it. Didn't like all the movement of the set trigger. I adjusted the set trigger out of it. No set trigger. Set the main trigger to 1 3/4 pounds. Had it at 1 1/2, but was a little light when wearing gloves. The trigger is fabulous. No creep and no movement after. It goes off and never feel the trigger move. Don't see how it can get better.

hi,a ime a newcomer on your site, first just like to say howdy to all my cousins over the water, just one question please, iv'e a couple of cz527s and would like to fit a lighter trigger spring, any pointers please where i may obtain a couple please, thanks in advance, atb ray

Can't remember who told me about this trick, but it worked!.
I took the "set" out of my trigger and replaced the spring with
one out of a "BIC" lighter. The trigger is pretty Damn good now.
Try it, you can always go back.

I honestly can't remember where I got the spring from, but Moondog (above) may have an answer for you.

Wolff Miniature Coil Spring Pack may have something that will work also.

I have 4 CZ's, three have the set trigger. I adjusted em to my liking and have no problem with em. My latest a 17 Hornet has feed issues. It was at the factory for repair after about 15 rounds

One of the things I like about my CZ 527's (17 Hornet & 204 Ruger) is just how adjustable the trigger is. I replaced the pull weight spring in both of mine with springs I bought from James Calhoon, they cost a whopping $2 a piece so I bought an extra just to have. Getting the old spring out is a little trickier than putting the new spring in but it's still relatively easy. With the new spring you can adjust the trigger in these 527's down into the ounces, I have both of mine are right around 10oz now.

A timney CZ550 trigger fits a 527 and can be adjusted to be perfectly safe.

Out of the package, mine fired when closing the bolt, but within an hour I had it just right.

The CZ 527 and 550 SST is my favorite part of those rifles. I wish that I could put one on my 455.

I much prefer the C-Z SSTs over the triggers on most "store-bought" rifles out there. I am, however, having a problem with light strikes on both 527s I currently own; hope to cure with stiffer striker springs from www.jnpgunsprings.com
