Thank you for the information, usually people just say competive. Its nice to have a numerical definition of how competitive.I compete against 457 MTR's on the 50 yard IBS score targets with my 457 Varmint 20: barrel. Those suckers really shoot. I can stay with them in conditions but when the wind don't blow they are good for 248-250 and I peak out at 246.
Since you sort for rim thickness, do you shim the headspace? If changing headspace do you set it to match rim thickness? Example ammo is 0.0415-0.0425 shim headspace for 0.0425?I am Dave.....I figured If the rims were consistant, The headspace would
be the same for each batch. I'm also thinking that an overly thick rim
could hinder ignition. I've yet to shoot them but I sorted 500 Wolf Extra
match and the spread was as much as .005". Oddly, the sort size was
pretty even with the edge going to the thicker side. I may chrono the
high against the low to see if things shake to that end.....Always something !!
Offhand shooting?View attachment 1450845 The little ones in front are the ones the adults shoot at Ridgway. 40-60-77-100 meters. A fun and challenging shoot to be sure.
Bergara B- 14 ROk guy's, I know it's been out a while but wanted some opinions on it before I make the purchase. Will it be good for local club shoots from 50 yards to 200 yards? Shooting usbr targets mainly. Optics will be a Sightron 45×45. Ammo will be lapua center x as long as it likes it. Front rest will be Caldwell Rock BR and edgewood rear bag fill with heavy sand. Thank you for your time.
Offhand shooting? No, those are not shot offhand, thank goodness! We are allowed to use club provided front bag or shoot off your own bipod. No back rest is allowed. You can use your hand to help study the butt stock, but it is not allowed to touch the bench.
Did you ever chrono these? If so, I would love to know the results.I may chrono the

Isn’t Lapua and SK both manufactured by Lapua? I was told that SK is Lapua that didn’t test well enough to be branded Lapua.most CZ's like pretty much anything SK. Mine like Pistol Match Special, Biathlon and Long Range Match. SK seems a lot less lot sensitive for me than Lapua or Eley
Sounds like a winning combination to me. You will need to fix the trigger for max accuracy potential though. You can get a 8-10 oz trigger with just a spring change. Noting that this is an older thread so hopefully the OP is already there.Ok guy's, I know it's been out a while but wanted some opinions on it before I make the purchase. My understanding is SK is on a separate production line using similar processes but dissimilar QC parameters..Isn’t Lapua and SK both manufactured by Lapua? I was told that SK is Lapua that didn’t test well enough to be branded Lapua.
I did a 20 shot sample of each rim thickness on the Wolf ammo.Did you ever chrono these? If so, I would love to know the results.
You could very well be correct. My understanding is SK is on a separate production line using similar processes but dissimilar QC parameters.
I mispoke. What I should have said is Lapua tends to be more lot sensitive for me. For some reason almost any lot SKS PMS shoots sub MOA, also the Center X tends to shoot better than the Midas +Isn’t Lapua and SK both manufactured by Lapua? Look over on RFC and you might find some info to lead you astray. LOLHas anyone taken their CZ457 MTR and put it into a chassis?
If you did, did you like it better or worse?
