CZ 455

After work im heading down to pick one up. Does anybody have any experience with the caliber change? Does it work good or would i be better off just leaving it a 22LR?

I got her home the other night. I haven't shot it yet ut hopefully I can get out this weekend. I don't know which conversion I'll get first, probably whichever one I can find ammo for easier. I sold a Savage and upgraded to this and the fit and finish of this thing is about 15 times that of a Savage and it costs about the same.

Mine is in 22 MAG. Toyed with the idea of putting a 17 hummer on cause ammo is available. But I had a 17 HMR in another brand rifle.. Didn't really care for it. 22 LR, I have several already.. Otherwise, I'd do a 22LR.

I love the 22 MAG..

zilla a man after my own heart. I've got a 17 HMR as well and don't think much about them. Not much effect on impact to where my 22 Mag makes things react when hit. I've got 2 455s, 22 mag and 22 LR with a Lilja barrel. Both very accurate.
Barrel change is easy and accurate. I love my 22 mags. Don't have much use for the 17 HMR, super accurate but not much else.

Hoier, You will love the CZ455. Barrel change is simple, just a few allen wrenched which they supply with conversion kit. I bought 22lr and 17hmr. Don't know where these guys are getting 22mag ammo. Look before you leap.

That is definitely the plan. Doesn't seem to matter since I don't see any 17 or 22mag. So 22lr it is for awhile. Haha

Depends on where you are at I suspect. Around here I can find 22 mag ammo. 17 HMR is stacked high.. 22 LR? Take your chances.. I have a big pile of ammo stashed that I bought up for cheap before the Obummer scare.. So I am good to go..

Got a 455 Lux about three years ago, 22mag/22lr. Have since changed the stock, but not
the barrel. On a hunch, I got 10 boxes of Horn 30gr Vmax's from Midway. Also found one
box each of CCI solids and HP's locally. Then everything dried up.....haven't seen any 22mag
ammo since. Very few times has there been any 22lr anything around here. 17hmr ammo
can be found just about anywhere. I would gladly trade the 22lr barrel for a 17hmr barrel!!

The "hunch" mentioned turned out to be one of the best I've ever had. The accuracy with
the CCI all lead bullets is typical of what I've so often read or heard about 22mags, not
that great. However, accuracy is right there with my 17hmr when it groups with the 30gr
Vmax's. So Hoier, if ya think about changing to the mag barrel, keep an eye open for the
Hornady's. ;)

OK, I took the plunge. I have been shooting bunches of my 22 MAG stash and it is hard to find right now. bought a 17 HMR barrel for ~$150 and installed it. Easy install.. My 455 is the LUX model and comes with iron sights. I bought the barrel for the American. Shoots great. I have been up at my sis's ranch the last couple of days cleaning the gophers out of a few pastures for her.. I hated the other 17 HMR I had , but am really liking this one.. As long as the wind aint blowing I am golden..
