Cyro barrel treatment

Mine was purchased about 30 years ago as I recall. The newest post in those threads is from 2013. What should I glean from that about a company?

Here's a curious group I shot in load development through that Blackstar. Not particularly small, but from a dead cold, clean barrel an unusual shape. Apparently I needed a sixth shot to complete the circle. 87-gr TNT @3400.

I think you are right, I seem to remember now that Blackstar did advertise some electro polish thing they did to the bore. I might be a little hard on mine, in all fairness it will put 5 175 grain partitions touching at 100 yards. It's on a pre-64 Model 70 with a Timney in 280AI. I have killed 3 big whitetails with it and have always had good luck hunting with it. I always see game. Not the #1 best accurate rifle I own, but I will never sell it. It also has never copper fouled at all.

Yes it ain't new as they went tits up.

I'm surprised they may have still been in business in 2003. Barrels weren't their primary business as I recall, they were industrial processing of some sort.

That's some shooting for a cartridge that fulsome. There's a lot of elk hunters would covet that medicine. A couple more walk-ins and we can start our own vintage Blackstar fan club.
