Cutting a bullet short?

Hey everyone, so I'm reloading for a .22 Hornet with a 1 in 16" barrel (Sako M78)
I've been given some 50 grain spire points that won't stabilize due to being too long. I wondered if I could just cut them back a bit? What would it hurt? Thanks in advance.

May work? But 16 twist is slow. Flat base bullets only.

No bullets with exposed lead at the base. (FMJ)

My hornet will stabilize the 50’s but for what it’s worth I wouldn’t go to the trouble of cutting them off I would use them in something different and buy some 40’s

Just an idea, but if you have enough of them, maybe you could list them for trade.
