Custom re-blueing question.

My Mauser project is close to heading out to my smith to get the barrel and action trued and joined.

I want to get the finish on it ASAP when it gets back because they are both in the chrome molly white.

The finish I am looking for is a deep mirror blue like a lot of classical guns had, unfortunately I haven’t been able to find anyone on the internet or locally that does this finish work. I’ve found lots of Dura-Coaters and Powder Coaters but that’s not what I want.

My Mauser is a 1951 commercial Belgian FN.

Do any of you know of a shop that does the work I’m looking for? A web site link would be great if you do.

Many good smiths can do high quality blueing--it's all about prep, maintaining clean solutions and temp control. But if you want presentation-grade work, Doug Trumball's shop has to be one of the top choices.

I was looking at that Dura-Coat product as well. It's way cheaper than the blue process that's for sure.
