Custom Barrel Mfg's

I am fortunate to own aftermarket barrels from several manufacturers. We are lucky to have so many great choices these days.

Hawk Hill Custom is in Verona VA. I have an 8 twist 6.5 blank that I picked up there a month or so ago. Nice people, got to tour the shop and watched them lap my blank.

My smith buddies predator rifle in .223AI has a Hawk Hill barrel on it and he is happy
with it.

I will give some feedback whenever the 6.5 Creedmoor project is completed. (gas gun)

Why is it that there are so many barrel makers in Wisconsin? Something in the water ;)

Boils down to the quality-minded German immigrants that settled the area. Krauts are famous machiners.

Yes there are lots of Germans making barrels here in Wi. I'm not positive on this, but I think that goes back to Boots Obermeyer. A very competitive shooter making barrels. I've heard that some of the others branched off after learning from Boots. Criterion was a branch of Kreiger that split off. Employees from most of them all compete with us at Lodi. They all make great barrels!
