Current Lee Collet Dies?

I should probably call Lee, but maybe someone here knows. Does Lee still produce the Collet Dies with that modification that M.L. McPherson talked them into?

I'm not sure what their product status is across the board on current production. I ordered a 300 BO collet neck die a couple of months ago and the one I received has a generous amount of collet extending past the end of the case neck. Just like old times which made me very happy.

I've seen both, but I think it may just be old stock. I pretty much just shop for them on ebay looking for the old hex lock ring to be sure I'm getting a proper die.

Lee has resumed making custom collet dies. They are in the process of making a 7/6.5 PRCW die for me. I sent them two fired cases and a (Berger 180) bullet and they will use these to define the geometry of the new die.

The modification was something along the lines that mostly only an amount of the mouth of the neck got sized, leaving the neck unsized from the shoulder to the sized portion. The previous arrangement was that the whole case neck to the shoulder was sized.

Other way up I think you'll find so to have the neck opening unsized to ease seating of flat based projectiles.

When these changes were made to the collect many didn't like it and you can find some discussion about this is in threads here.
IIRC you can still get the standard full neck sizing collet from Lee as a spare part.
