Cost of Bullets

Bullets. Sure. What about brass, powder, primers, scopes, rings, mounts, stocks, range fees, it goes on and on? Eventually they’ll find themselves without any customer base.
Don’t know if anyone noticed Wendy’s one month in office CEO great decision yesterday .
Increased prices during lunch and dinner. People went nuts. Today “clarification “was issued. What he really meant was lunch and dinner time meals stay the same price and off hours will be reduced prices. Really? The English language, while tricky, is not that hard. Irreparable damage? Yup. Came out that Wendy’s (6,000 locations) is the highest price of fast food places.
The first business of business is to stay in business.
All that "free money" handed out during/after COVID is still having a tremendous inflationary effect. It was reported the other day that the average American has 20% more money in their checking/savings than pre-covid, and wages are up big. It will be interesting to see how this all ends - as I have a feeling that the old saying of "there is no free lunch" certainly applies here.

Are you talking about CARES or ERC or something else? That 'free money' is actually my money. I just let The Government use it for a little while. Those two programs saved quite a few small businesses. I was not polled on the "20% more money...." so it doesn't count. Anyway, how would 'they' know that?

Used to shoot 52 gr. Speer HP's in my Swift and accounted for 'a few' g-hogs. Big hollow point up front that you could mix a drink in... Still a good bullet and they aren't expensive, at least relatively....

And this thread continues and I'm sorry.

I loved watching Joe Montana, EVERY Chance I could,.. Man was He,. "Good" and He had, some of, the BEST Receiver's, too ! They made some, Amazing catches !
For Me,.. Football WAS,. "Fun", in those Days !
I only watch the Super Bowl, now,.. Fudge 'em, as most are, Woke sissy, Millionaires !
Hopefully SOME of, the Bullet and Powder, "Hoarding" is, slowing, Down,.. maybe ?
Don't even watch that. Zero interest since the flag kneeling.

Been out of most of the component buying since precovid days. Finally broke down and bought some shot for trap loads last year. Bought a few things here and there for favorable prices, but had inventoried up while Trump was in office. I don't like the prices any more than anyone else but fully expect that replacement cost for components to be materially higher. Don't expect to see Winchester small rifle primers readily available and $100/case of 5000. Bullets are going to be similar. Too many reasons for prices not to be higher today.

Winchester small rifle primers are available - just not at $100/5000.

If you like free markets understand one thing, when our economy is booming as it is the last 3 years, manufacturers are going to charge what buyers are willing to pay!

If you don't like free markets, move to Venezuela they have what you want, cheap gas, cheap food, cheap housing, but you better take your money with you, cause you ain't gonna like what you find there!

We all want to have more but far to many expect that without understanding so do others, learn to put up with it, been this way Fer the 7 decades I've witnessed. The only time things go down, is when buyers can't afford them. When the economy stops getting better, prices will stop going up. Just the way free markets operate!
I think you have your economics backwards. When the economy is booming then there is more supply of product which means the price of goods goes down. Prices are currently through the roof because our genius Commander and Chief has ruined the domestic fossil fuels industry. The price of fossil fuel affects every aspect of our economy and the price of our goods.... including bullets. High fuel prices means it costs more to mine raw material, deliver raw materials to the factories, higher costs to light, heat, and provide electricity to the machines, higher costs to deliver the product to the LGS. Thank Biden not the "booming ecomomy" for expensive bullets.

Than why are all the Venezuelans coming here, and the democrats are changing free America into marxist Venezuela?

People obviously confuse a strong economy, with falling prices! Sorry boys that ain't how it works, when shelves are full, there ain't for hire signs everywhere you look, and shelves are full because in a poor economy people ain't emptying them, and more workers ain't needed!

I would think that was pure logic! When everyone is buying shelves stay empty, sorry but thats why anybody that wants has a job! Been that way for 7 decades, wake up!

Now if some are referring to the whining about I can't buy bullets powder or primers,,, they don't understand with all the wars and militaries building up out of fear, maybe there is now common sense anymore?

Perhaps I should have used the term "an excessive amount of money injected into the populace", though when millions of Americans received checks in the mail that were in not unemployed or under-employed - I do think of that as "free money" to them. It certainly was not for folks like me, who did not receive any checks, nor had businesses that received funds. To that extent, those who did received, often received far more than they paid into the system. Not everyone can apply your analogy, for sure. Not all those folks were even tax payers - unlike you.

Regarding the 20% more money - the government polls banks on their average account balances and compares with prior polls.
