Coperhead Bullets

Does anyone have any experience with these or know much about them by chance. I am looking at some solid copper .22 cal 55 grain. I found a place that sells 1000 blems for 65.00 and non-blems for 83.00 if they are worth a darn be good plinking or coyote, crow, rabbit, turtle ect. killer.

Very Respectfully

I could see them being a plinker , however it would be nice to know how long they are due to twist restrictions.

Ken(owner of Copperhead) makes very very accurate bullets. I cant see him selling 1000 bullets for 83 bux.

I wish he would sell his bullets for that price. many championships have been won with them. Maybe he exports some seconds???

I just received my copperhead bullets and I got the seconds as they will be fireform bullets anyways. They are a solid with a flat meplat that really needs truing up but I myself wont be doing anything other than fireforming. If the firsts they sell for 83.00 are better then I would take a chance on them as well.

Maybe because I'm "Down Under" I'm stupid but please can someone explain what a "Blem" and a "Non Blem" is...???

Are we talking about "Copperhead Bullets" that are made by my friend Ken Melgaard (CopperHead Bullets) who recently retired from being the Ballistician for ADI Industries....makers of Hodgdon Extreme Powders...

The only thing ive found close to this price and name is "Copper Head" .224 55 gr BT for $53.25

Looks like a knock-off or someone "borrowing" Ken's good name.

I emailed Ken in Australia and asked if he produced this bullet and he wrote back he can make a 55 grain solid copper bullet and if I wanted some he would make them to order. Makes me think he wouldn't make 100's of thousands of custom bullets and sell them for nothing to export to the US. I've never made a bullet nor do I know what it takes to make a custom bullet but how would he have so many 2nds and blems....

I found them at American marksman. The price has gone up some in the last 2 weeks.

If you want a litle more information on Ken's business making bullets, have a read here.

Ken is one very nice person as I found out when I first shot with him at one of our national competitions and will be doing so more in the future now that he has retired from ADI.
