Have a model 54 Cooper and was wondering if anyone new how to adjust trigger wt. of pull?
Rick, does the Jard come with a safety? All my Cooper rifles are live varmint bench rifles. As such, I've found the best fix is to just replace the Cooper trigger with a Jard. Mine all wear the Jard 10 oz. trigger, and I could not be happier......and they break like the proverbial glass rod.
The factory trigger is decent, but just cannot be adjusted to a light enough weight for the type of shooting I/we do.
My (used) 6mm Rem. M22 came with a 1/2# pull - and the safety didn’t work. I increased the pull weight, got the safety working, but only for one cocking; if I re-cock a second time without firing a round or dry firing, it’ll slam fire!!!Be sure your safety works properly after adjusting. I've seen Cooper triggers when set up for minimal sear engagement and over travel have safetys that wouldn't work. But I've never seen one that couldn't be set up very nicely and still have the safety work.
