Cooper rumors?

I have heard that Cooper has been sold to Wilson barrels. Also that Rob Baer has left the company.Does anyone have any info. I would like to know if Dan is still in control or has he moved to Ohio? Before I consider any Coopers I would like to have all this sorted out. Thanks for any info. This may not be the place to post this but this site contains more information than any other site. Thx and have a wonderful day.

I am sure this has to do with Cooper supporting Hillary Clinton and the Democrats during the race for President. After hearing about this, I will never buy a Cooper rifle until the company is owned by someone else and the owner can no longer receive money, which I believe will never happen. So, I will never buy a Cooper!

6BR actually it was his support of the O- Man. And if he has sold teh company, that would make him not in control right?

FWIW Copper makes a real nice semi custom rifle, which is the best bang for the buck if you ask me. IF the $ is no longer going into Dans pocket It would be an option again.

If Dan is no longer receiving money, than yes a Copper would be an option. It's important to understand that he can still resign, but still own 51% of the company, which means he will continue to see a profit. I can not support a company that supported Obama or Hillary. I personally don't see the owner walking away. I still see him being Incorporated with the company in the shadows, that said, I will never buy a Copper.

I can't believe an owner of a rifle company would support a Democrat. It makes me sick just thinking about it. I live in California and the Demo crates are doing everything they can to make it difficult not only to own a gun or rifle but also make it difficult to buy ammo or use lead ammo in certain hunting areas. They have also made it difficult to ship rifles to California. I just had a rifle built and the gunsmith had to get an approval from California for shipment. I have also seen on classified adds were sellers won't even sell to California buyers. I don't think people believe there state will be effected buy some of these laws. You people living in other states, other than California, should take a good look. It makes me sick to my stomach every time I here of a gun owner voting for Democrat. People who own hunting rifles think the only guns Democrates want to take away are the assault type weapons and handguns. This is simply not true. Democrats want to take all guns away from us.

Rob left Cooper about 8 or so months ago. He is now a detective in Miles City, MT.

Cooper is now owned by Wilson Arms. Wilson Arms will leave the operation in Stevensville, MT. I guess you can expect some changes in the future but I haven't heard of any right now.

There did not seem to be much action or interest in the Cooper booth when I went by it at the SHOT show this year, I did go by a few times and each time was the same.
Hard to feel sorry for them

I read the post and I thought I would call just to make sure that someone didn't get some bad info. I called and asked if Cooper had been sold and the service rep on the other end said that Wilson Arms is now the sole owner of Cooper. The workers at Cooper when rob was there must have thought WTF was he thinking ? Hopefully it'll turn around for them now that he's not involved anymore because they really do make fine rifles. I'm pretty sure that the new owners will not make the same mistake rob did.

Hold on, Indianhead, it was DAN COOPER who was supporting Obama. Someone will speak up if I am wrong, but I have not seen on any forum to indicate that Rob Baer had any involvement in that incident.
