Cooper Arms Question

All four of my Cooper rifles are capable of better accuracy than I can hold. All shoot 1/4" or less with good handloads. Mine are 221FB, 20VT, 223 and 204R.

My Phoenix "Furball" after a good morning on walkabout for rock chucks:

My Cooper VR in 20VT....another good morning:

I've never met a Cooper I didn't like. They just shoot, chucks fear them! :D

I ordered my Cooper 19-223 with a 26”barrel and it is my understanding that for the 19s they use PAC-Nor barrels. The 19-223 has accounted for many pd’s past the 500 yard mark, all mine shoot very nicely.I would not hesitate to get a Cooper either new or used, most are well cared for and shoot great.

I shoot a 220 Swift Cooper & Mod 38 22 HNT - both shoot great. Whatever barrel they use, they are proven to be accurate.

ditto. I've never seen a Cooper (for sale anyway) in less than great condition. too nice to mess up.

Also, Ragged Hole barrels are Wilsons.
I have three Coopers (.221 Fireball, .204R, and 6mm Rem.); all shoot “like a house afire”. Those will be the last 3 guns I own up until I croak
I"ve got 2 Coopers that perform the same as everyone else's on here. And Wilson's better shoot, I am working on getting 2 remage Wilsons from Ragged hole right now!

Raggedholebarrels.net They are a rifle gunsmithing outfit in Nevada. They deal with Wilson in bulk for making prefit barrels, and I think they carry X-caliber and maybe Shilen for regular installations. They do the regular basics: truing, chambering, threading, fluting, like that.

Thank you kindly!

Had a Cooper 21 Varminter in 222Remington/Wilson barrel.. A most beautiful gun.. Sold after not using it for almost 10 yrs... Big mistake. Wish l had it back

I’m not paying that kind of money for a rifle with a Wilson barrel.

Bring on the flames!

Who cares who's name is on the barrel [Wilson, Obermeyer, Krieger, Shilen, Lilja, Brux, Bartlein or Tommie] if it shoots 1/4" groups consistently at 200 yards all day long out of the box; that's as good as it gets for a hunting rig. It really adds to the point of who puts the pieces together has equal impact of the rifles potential. I have two of them in 221 Fireball in the Montana Varminter Extreme set up.

No flamming or disrespect intended.

I’ve wanted a copper for years and never pulled the trigger. Just love those Buick vents

All of these posts and not target to back up the claims. LOL My Cooper in 223 and tac 20 were both very accurate. Sorry, no targets.

If you can definitively prove that you can outshoot a Wilson blanked Cooper, then we'd care.

Wilsons just don't typically shoot as well for as LONG as a premium cut tube.

Not sure who made the barrel on this 204 but this rat was 504 yards away. The mirage had quit running so after dialing up 7 MOA I held in the middle, just below the neck of this squirrel, which was facing me. The bullet hit about 1/2" to the right, dropping him DRT. No complaints about Cooper barrels from me! :)

I have 6 Coopers and all shoot well under their guarantee. My take on barrels is that only a well seasoned BR shooter can even tell the difference in manufacturer.
