Coolant for Chamber Flush

Is anyone using a water soluble coolant in their chamber flush system? If so, what are you using? How well does it work and how’s the reamer life using it?

I know Nat Lambeth used a Rustlick product with a lot of success. I’m thinking about trying a coolant over the Trim OM287 oil I’ve been using. Being able to turn and do lathe things other than chambering without smoking out the shop would be nice. I’m currently doing research looking for a very high lubricity water soluble oil with the goal of excellent reamer life, no ship welding, and doesn’t cause rust or easily go rancid.

Screw water-based coolants. No need for it in a home shop, it'll only cause aggravation.
Neat cutting oil like Astro-Swiss, or Ridgid cut with some transmission fluid (which is what I use).

Mobil Met 766 is what I use on my system in my home shop.

At work we use water based in most of our production CNC’s and the water quality needs to be just right or it will wreak havoc.

I have been using a gundrilling fluid for 8 years now. Castrol Syntillo 9974. I run a 10 to 12% solution. Very low oder. Has some rust prevention properties. Works good for turning. Reamers usually last 20 chambers or more.

I turn dry.
When I set up my TL-1 I tried Nate's Rustlick at his concentration. Turned it into a painter remover.

This is the one that I have used at work.
I haven't done a lot of reaming with it, but a LOT of threading!
I'd probably put the mix at 10% to help keep chatter down.
