Chamber flush - oil or water soluble?

That ain't happenin. :)
I just use a small dam with oil absorbent media. I throw a small sheet of this into the catch bucket as well and change it every week or so. I also have a cheap brix refractometer from amazon. I check it every few weeks.

After using my set up a few times now I’ve decided the catch pan need to be turned like machinest John’s. being parallel to the ways it’s just to long for my liking.

I generally keep an oil absorbing pig mat in the bottom of my chip tray anyway...

Are there any modern coolants that don't end up stinking and growing biomaterial?

This is looking nice.

A friend used Hangsterfers S-500CF (and chlorinated prior to the CF) in his CNC’s for many years. I have a bunch of it I got from him. He never had issues in his machines with it and neither have I. He runs tramp skimmers but is super lazy about checking the concentration. Too busy running machines I suppose. He’s using something else now but I’m blanking on what it is. I haven’t heard anything negative about that one either.

I was concerned about coolant going rancid so did some research and found one that people recommended. You guys probably can't get it over there but I'm sure you'll have something similar or better. Proper workshops are turning it over all day so it's not such a big deal. If I started having problems with it going rancid I was going to add a little fish tank aerator on a timer to prevent it going anaerobic.

Saw on Titans on CNC one shop was having issues. Turned out someone was pi$$in in the tank on nightshift!

I use Hsngsterfers in my little Haas cnc mill and also use it in my manual lathe that has a built in sump and pump. Sometimes my machines sit for weeks without use and the coolant stays fine and doesn't get rancid.

Thanks, and good point.

I ended up dumping a gallon of astro swiss in my tank and will just run that. I just need a little drizzle for threading and drilling and it seems to be fine for that. I just don't trust what I can't see, and I can't see under my cross slide/compound/bearings, etc. I'd be devestated if it got rusted in there somehow.
