Consistent burning rifle powders Hodgdon Extreme, etc

Reloder 25 isn’t very Temp stable from my experience but Reloder 16 and the new 15.5 are very temp stable along with ARComp and Reloder 23.
there are others that are reasonably stable like R26 /6.5 Staball 4000 MR

IIRC, AR-Comp is rated something like -20F to +140F with only a 15fps velocity change. Besides that, it works well across many calibers and many bullet weights. It's my Swiss Army Knife of powders. Back in the days of the 65G forum, I was the early adopter promoting it for the Grendel when 8208 and BLC-2 were the rage. Its not unobtanium but like many popular powders these days, you have keep an eye out for it and act fast if you see some.

Couple of years ago I did a head to head comparison of Varget and Shooters World Precision between 40F and 100F, and found no statistically significant difference between them in my 223 AI. That said, I finally got some of the new production of the SWP and it seems to shoot slower than my old data indicates. Unfortunately I have not been able to replicate the test due to the scarcity of Varget. I feel both are good and similar powders, but it looks like LOVEX took the shortage to their advantage and now the list price of SWP is higher than Varget when available. I will say however that the SWP does meter better.

I will second claims on Vihtavouri. Their “500” series powders are very temp stable and consistent.

Alliant Reloder 16 is very temp stable as well and a great substitute for H4350.

OK, thanks for the replies. I load 308 Winchester, 7mm SAUM, 6.5 Creedmoor and 338 Lapua in the future.

For 308, I can't find anything more consistent than Varget. I have tried a few other powders with heavier bullets such as R15 and 4064, but they were not as consistent. I will look for some ARComp, R16 and Vithavouri 150 or 550.

6.5 Creedmoor, H4350 has been my go to and has been good, another Hodgdon Extreme powder.

7 Saum.... I've had luck with Hybrid 100V and R25, but R25 is without question noticeably temperature sensitive.
