So, I got a chance to go shoot, just. As I got out to where I'm lucky enough to shoot out to just shy of 300m, there was a humdinger of a thunderstorm beginning (turned out to be 3 that carried on for about 6 hours, which is unusual for here.). Anyway, I had enough time to shoot some loaded ammo that I had tried annealing again, using tempilaq, to verify that I had been more consistent with heating the case necks / shoulders. Result was no 100 fps velocity fluctuations, and all pretty much in line. Also knocked over some bunnys, 123 gr Amax are just vicious, and head shots are required for any reasonable recovery. Sorry getting off topic of my post.
So the result is, as with other aspects of reloading, ensure that you're consistent when doing whatever process, so that you don't have to chase down stuff like this. cheers
