concentricity gauge

I need some suggestion please. I'm looking to buy a concentricity gauge. I would like one that is accurate and made for precision. Iwould also like one that could measure casing and bullet seperate as well as together if that is possible. Again any help would be great...thank you

Dion,
I have both of these that Mike has suggested, I agree with Mikes suggestions, he and I have discussed concentricity issues in great detail in the past and I believe both of these tools are valuable on the bench, I will let Mike explain the different qualities of each one as he is much better at explaining it then I. If I could only buy one I would buy the neco but I use the sinclair more, I know that doesn't make sense but it is the way it is. The new 21st Century is said to be very good but I have not used it yet, hope this helps some.

Hi Don

Well,Don,I know none of these tools, but to go along with these gentlemen(Hi Bozo, long time no hear mate),I will add that in the equipment review section here,if I remember right, someone(probably G. Salazar)wrote a review of the 21st Century tool and it seems to be a top end piece of equipment, try and give it a read, very interesting.Just my 2 cents.

dion,

I have Sinclair's concentricity gauge and find it very quick and easy to get accurate runout measurements. But the one that has caught my eye is the new Accuracy One wheel driven concentricity gauge. Click on the bulletin tab above and go July 25th and watch the video. Now I am not sure if it is available yet or if there has been any member evaluation but it sure looks slick.

Look at the accuracy one concentricity gage. It is by far the best one to come out in a long time. It can be seen on the homepage and read the article ,watch the video.

Only thing that concerns me about Accuracy One's unit is the bearings(potential bearing play). Until someone independently tests to show it's not a factor, i'm assuming they should have went with ball contact points like Sinclair, or v-block like NECO.
Beyond that, I totally like.

With mods to it's indicator stand + an additional indicator stand(also modified) it could be used for headspace and thickness measure. That's where I'd go with it, as this would provide a better return on the cost.
Hmmm,, dammit,, another toy!

contact Premier accurace....best one availiable......can straighten rounds without hurting neck tension. Google...... premier accuracy.....Bill Goad

The RCBS Case Master Concentricity Gaging Tool is very sensitive to finger pressure. When the V-blocks are locked down the rear of the V-block lifts off the base unit, and thus allowing up and down movement.

The Sinclair's concentricity gauge is on sale at the moment at $80.00 and its ball bearings do not move. ;)

Sorry DocEd, I have big fat fingers that drink too much coffee. ::)
