Competition Cartridge Caddies - With Timers -

Alexander-M

A couple of months ago I made a cartridge caddie to make it easier to stage the proper number of rounds for a match, provide a place for the empties, and included an inexpensive timer to keep track of the allotted shooting time. I took it to a match and it worked great.

One of the other shooters saw the caddie and asked me if I would make one for him, and how much I would charge him for it. I did a quick mental calculation of the material cost, the timer cost (from Wal-Mart for $5), my time, and came up with $60. He thought this was a very fair price, and asked me to make him one for this 6mm rounds.

I went home, dug up several cartridge dimensions, and designed three models; namely, for .308, 6mm, 6.5mm, and .223. For variety, I decided to offer several finishes in addition to the one I had made for myself, which was painted red, and made several finished in red, as well as blue, and a pink one – just in case a lady shooter would be interested. I also made several with a natural finish, as shown below. At the last match I sold several of the caddies, and everyone who bought them were very happy with how well the caddies worked for them.

I have a number of these finished and ready to ship, and have posted them in the Marketplace forum under the Tools, Dies, Rests, Reloading Components & Misc section.

Thx!

Nando,

These are very sharp looking! All the best on your future sales.

Your cartridge caddies jumped right off the screen when I clicked on your post. Very impressive indeed. I can imagine these not going over very well.
Good Luck

Re: Competition Cartridge Caddies

Thank you, Ray!

Yes, I have had several orders for 6mm and 308's, and a couple of requests for custom models, but none for .223 so far. I thought the caddies would work well for the 600 yard slow fire portion of the XC.

I also offer money back guarantee as I realize that sometimes it is difficult to judge something like this from a picture; or several pictures, actually, as I posted here: http://forum.accurateshooter.com/index.php?topic=3847593.0

Re: Competition Cartridge Caddies

Jon,

YES! The timer is included in the price.

I ship each caddie with a timer, in its original bubble pack, so you can open your timer and activate its battery. I merely mentioned the source (Walmart) just so you know from where I buy the timers.

Thx!

Here is my quick review of the Cartridge Caddy I received today.

I saw these on the website and thought it was such a great idea I had to have one. I sent a PM, and almost immediately received a response back. Throughout the transaction Nando was always quick to respond to PMs and kept me in the loop the entire time. Great customer service.

The box arrived in good condition, and everything inside was well packaged:

Again, they are shipped well packaged and with the directions for the timer:

The build quality is perfect. It won't take up too much room in my little gun buggy, and it kills both birds with one stone as far as keeping my round count as well as the time. My caddy looks fantastic, and it is something I will be proud to have out on the firing line:

Getting to the cartridges is easy, and the spacing is just about right (even for my bigger hands.) It is easier to get to the next round if you put the fired round neck down first.

But, you can easily reach any cartridge you want with them pointing up:

But you could load it with all rounds facing down just as easily:

Although if you are trying to send a quick string before conditions change you might end up spending too much time looking for primer marks.

I'm very happy with the purchase. I don't know Nando from outside the forum, but based on his work and quick responses to my PMs I would say he is someone who is very proud of his product and proud of his customer service: as he should be!

MDLUCKY,

Your comments certainly made my day, and I really appreciate it!

I have received numerous personal messages echoing what you stated, and I am very happy that my caddies are living up to expectations.

I have a number of the caddies ready to ship, will be making more, and have a couple more to add, including the new walnut model, which although a bit higher priced due to material cost ($75 shipped), it is very good looking:

I will be posting soon on the for sale portion of the forum.

Again, thank you very much!

I would like to review the Black Walnut caddie as I requested this specific wood for my caddie from Nando. Nando was more then willing to research building this caddie out of walnut when I requested it and even went as far as ordering the wood himself after I offered to send him the wood. The caddie is like a piece of art. The finish is excellent and it works great. Once again, thank you very much.

Joe,

I really appreciate your nice comments - thank you!

I was finally able to locate a good and reliable source (in Ohio, so I have to order it) for the walnut lumber I use in the CC Caddies, have made a few more, and they may well become very popular.

I have a number of CC Caddies on hand, ready to ship, I am making more 'as we speak', and will gladly make any on special order. I just updated my related thread in the Marketplace > Tools, Dies, Rests. . . section of the forum a few minutes ago.

CC Caddies are MADE IN THE USA

Again, thank you!

Nando
