Comment on Sales by Non-Upgraded Members

Very discouraged. When I first joined this forum, never really saw many "non-paying" members buying or selling items. This was the reason, I fell in with all paying members. As components have become scarcer to find, it has brought out people who can not buy items, at their local 7-11's anymore. Like a fire, they spread the word to each other, on where to obtain products, without the price tag of Gunbroker. I continue to see them "HAWK" specific parts, which are caliber related to panic buying. Wonder if we will ever hear from them again, once prices, start to return to normal and they can purchase loaded cartridges, without having to log into a forum? When an item is posted and a buyer, purchases it,all, in in less than a minute, I guess it's time to quite looking for components and stick to just selling for the time being. Crying shame, Silver and Gold members who support the forum, will soon be competing, to purchase items, do to the large influx of non-paying buyers, from the panic generation.

Time will tell for sure. I try my best to buy or sell to sign up members. Maybe that is the best too do and therefore stop some of the others.

I've certainly seen the same things on the couple of forums I'm on.
There are tons of "want to buy" posts from newbies that receive emails on "new" posts from "reloading components for sale" postings.

I would bet a brick of SRP that powder and primers are being shipped without HazMat.

You are absolutely right. I wouldn't see anything wrong with only members being allowed to buy and sell here, that would stop a lot of it.

Thank you for the desire to work with the Gold and Silver members who support the site. That is admirable.

We have considered creating a special "members only" Classifieds area that might include non-gun stuff, such as camping equipment, non-gun hobby gear.

But it's not practical to restrict the regular classifieds to paying members, because that would eliminate 96% of the potential buyers, and I doubt most sellers would deem that in their best interest.

Currently, non-upgraded members may place just three (3) ads (FS or WTB) in the Classifieds in a 12-month period before they must upgrade. We feel that is a reasonable limit.
