I've been a 22-250 fan since 1973 when my dad bought a Rem 700 Varmint Special to replace the semi custom Pre 64 Model 70 220 Swift some POS low life stole out of his truck. I was five back then and I'm still pissed off about it. Anyway, I think everyone should have at least one if not two maybe even three 22-250's in their quiver.A total of 5 threads on the first page concerning the 22-250 remington cartridge. This is a good thing, that is all.
I’m on your team. I have 3 lol. One for daytime hunting, one with a thermal for night time and a big heavy savage lrpvI've been a 22-250 fan since 1973 when my dad bought a Rem 700 Varmint Special to replace the semi custom Pre 64 Model 70 220 Swift some POS low life stole out of his truck. I have had a total of four since 1986. Sold the first one to buy my first AR which I still have. Bought another one from a buddy in the early 2000's that was identical to the first one I had then ended up using it for a donor to build my 6-284. Went nearly twenty years without one at all now I'm back to having two of them.
IMHO, you can never go wrong with a good 22-250 they just get it done rain or shine and have always been a solid performer.
As much as I love my 22-250s and I'll always have a few, if I was building something new the 22 Dasher or GT would be a likely suspect for me to choose. Thinking about an SP here.meh, I don't think its going to gain any more traction than it already has. It is a great cartridge, but these days I'd pick something else like a 22GT. Similar capacity and a better cartridge design IMO.
