Column Target ???

Berger sells 6mm bullets that are characterized as "Column Target" bullets. What does that mean and what is their particular application?

Just getting started in the world of 6mm BR. Rifle is being put together now. Looking around at components and dies. Grabbed 500 Berger 105gr Hybrids from a poster but will try whatever is available once I get started.

Twist maters ! them 105 will do great in the 8 twist, the Columns 13.5, 14 is the norm !

I use the Berger column in my 6br Norma and it shoots great.

Interesting - is this style of target bullet proving itself?

My rifle likes them. 13.5tw 24" Krieger, running either 31gr Varget or 30 gr LT32 will produce groups largely in the .1"s. with the occasional .2x", and the less occasional .0x".

I've shot Bart's Original and Ultra 66FBHPs; The originals shoot very well in my rifle; close but slightly (and I mean very slightly) larger than the Columns. I couldn't get consistency I wanted with the Ultras.

The nice thing is the three bullets all seem to like the same charge, so loading for any becomes a matter of which box you grab off the shelf at seating time.
