It was the Chrono !My Caldwell tracks within +/- 3fps from the labradar (adjusted for distance from muzzle) that is, when the optical is all lined up correctly and there are no direct sunlight issues. So at least my was calibrated and performs well.... when not dealing with all the annoying issues of an optical chrono.
Just to put numbers behind this... it was for 20 rounds (a 20 round mag) of 223 and two 5 shot strings of 308. So, take the data set for what it is worth.
If I had the OPs #s, I wouldn't be looking at the chrono. Neck tension, primers, and case fill % would be the low hanging fruit.
