Columbus, WI Matches?

We are nearing the completion of the 600 yard range at Columbus, WI.
I'm trying to gauge interest in various shooting events.

Would you come to Columbus for matches? It is 20 minutes NE of Madison on HWY 151.

Would you come for IBS 600yd. Benchrest? We will coordinate dates not to interfere with Harris and St. Louis.

Would you come for fun matches, ie. balloon shoots, etc.?

Are you more likely to come for a two day match?

I am not real far from Columbus, probably 1 1/2 hour. I don't have anywhere to practice for 600. I would be interested in 300 and probably prefer the fun shoots. My wife shoots also. We are new to target shooting and are Senior citizens, so probably not looking to get too technical. We were at a funshoot weekend before last in the U.P.

Terry, do you have burms for prone shooting??

I would think you could draw in Palma/F-class shooters for high power matches.
Lots of open week-ends for these shoots check out the WI-Force web-site for open dates as all the other ranges usually keep the same yearly scheduale. I would attend.

Benchrest, that would depend on how tight a ship you run and the need to keep down-time to a minimum, I have attended a few "informal" BR matches and it was more BSing than shooting because the line ran so slow.
I would go to a BR match if it was indeed a br match and not a -shoot what you have surplus ammo for and see if you can hit the target-.

That will be your challenge to keep the correct level of shooter in the correct event, fun shoots are fine for messing around at, but have no place at a "BR match"

I'd come for midrange and XTC competition as well. Probably not every event, but if they were on the 10 state schedule and WI-force you'd get some shooters
