We have been to a couple of 300 yard coyote shoots using NRA coyote targets and really enjoyed them. IMHO anything that helps to make the shoots fun are a plus. The balloon shoot is hard for beginners to get their rifles sighted in at the multiple ranges. I was trying to help myself and two others last year and it was extremely frustrating during the sight in on Friday. Shooting at balloons and not being able to tell where the misses were going was miserable. Targets on sight in day would have been a huge help. I realize that there is nothing you can do about it, but the 300 yards at the Columbus range is less than ideal. Many balloons were behind cattails. Some were, some were not. That makes for an unlevel playing field between competitors. The 600 yard range there is good, so perhaps a 600 yard only fun shoot of some sort would be good? This is not meant to be a criticism, but rather ideas/suggestions that I see as a possible way to draw more beginning shooters.
