Back "in the day" the thing to do was fit a Python barrel to a K Frame Smith for a wadcutter gun.Long ago when the moon was no larger than a volleyball, I bought a 6 inch Python with their royal blue finish for $125 (new). Then I discovered that the S&W's were really better revolvers (flame suit zipped up) and sold the Python. I have had many Smith revolvers (models 66, 17, 35, 29, 19, 27, 28 and 14 (both single action and double action). Now in my old age, I am down to only my 4 inch model 19 for my defense weapon. In all fairness, the Colt Python and the Officers model Match will outshoot the .38/.357 Smiths with mild loaded wad cutter bullets. I believe that this is true because of the faster twist in the Colts. The 18+ twist in the Smiths is a little slow for the typical wadcutter. Does anyone out there have an Officers Model .38 in decent shape that they would trade for a Model 19 Smith?
