Coloring epoxy??

Most bedding kits come with black and brown tints to color the epoxy.
Anybody try to color epoxy a "different" color to match a stock color? If so, what did you use??

Find a local Tattoo place and ask for a bit of their ink, it goes a long way trust me on that one.
The choice of colors is mind boggling.

I have had good results tinting epoxy with powdered pigments. A cheap and effective method would be to buy a pack of sidewalk or chalkboard chalk in various colors and crush them into a fine powder. Just add the powder to the resin until you achieve the desired color and then add hardner as normal.

At one time I had a commercial marine application for pigmented epoxies and probably did about 100 gallons per month. The former posters are correct; however, be cautious about using the epoxy as an adhesive after mixing in gobs of pigment at the bonding strength is way down- otherwise is is quite simple.

My smith used blue and white make-up,powder pigments of it) I think!! Did a great job too, it looks like the sleeved action and wee bit of barrel bedding he added GREW OUT OF THE STOCK!!! I'll see him Sunday for our usual coffee get together and I will ask him and updat this as needed on Sunday night,Sept 24, 2006)
