Anyone ever use PC7 Epoxy for bedding jobs?

Anyone have any experience with PC7 epoxy? Does it work well for bedding actions? Im tempted to buy some and give it a try.

I looked at the specs (that I could find) for PC7 and I don't think it compares favorably to Marine-Tex or Devcon (or JB Weld for that matter). I don't know how much it matters as a measure, but for example, the compressive strength is roughly half of Devcon.

One thing I could NOT find was the shrinkage data. I believe you do want something that is not going to appreciably shrink while curing...

Last, I notice the heat deflection is only 120º, meaning it starts to warp at that temperature. Doesn't seem ideal IMO. For comparison, Devcon's deflection temp (dry) is 250º.

Jeese I didnt realize its compression strength was so low! Compression strength is probably a good measure of its ability to stand up to recoil, I would think. Good thing I didnt order any!

There are already several epoxy compounds that have been verified as "excellent" for bedding. Why look any further, or try to re-invent the wheel?

I used it on a mauser and an m1a, I was not impressed. It is not as easy to work with as Devcon putty or jb weld, and does not dry as hard. I ground it all out and started over.
When it comes to pot life, hardness, and ease of mixing and use, its hard to beat Devcon putty or JB weld.

I was not trying to reinvent the wheel. I was making an order for some tools, and saw that they had this PC7 stuff. I figured, since I was making an order anyway, maybe I should try some of the PC7 and save on shipping. It sounds like its a good thing I decided not to try it.
