coloring bullets part 2

I only color about 1/8" on each side of the ogive most the times. I couldnt tell any difference on white paper target doing that vs coloring the whole bullet sticking out of the brass.
 
I color about 3/8 inch. Makes them look like ballistic tips. Matt
take your bullets and when you color them, use either tape or something that you can stick the bullet up in so that the first part of the bullet sticks out so that you get an equal and even covering of the color on each bullet.. the fun you could have at the range with some folks..

Imagine if you will, the redneck.. "Whut kinda bullets em thare?" Matt, "Well they are color coded so that you know which are used for certain game, like these silver ones.. they really do the vampire trick".. The redneck, "Ooooweee! i bet em are real critter gitters!"
