Collier Rifles

I have read these forums for a while and learned a lot but this is my first post. Has anyone ever had any work or a rifle done by Collier Rifles? I have a Rem 700 SA that im going to have the action trued and rebarreled in a 6.5x47 Lapua. Joe was a very nice guy and answered all my questions and I was just interested in some feedback. He is close by and I can just drop the rifle off at his place, he guarranted 1/2" out of it when he was finished and his price is very good so I figured I couldnt really go wrong. I know this is an old post, but I had Joe at Collier Rifles in Millen, GA build me a .308 rifle in December of 2009 and it was a great experience. He worked with me on every detail and was a true professional. I am in the Military and currently stationed in New Jersey. I drove down to meet Joe, who was referred by another gunsmith in the local area. I told him that although a 1/2moa was good, thats what every gunsmith advertises and I wanted better. I showed up with some of the best quality parts available, based off recommendations from Joe on what to purchase. Surgeon Action, Jewell Trigger, "Boots" Obermeyer barrel, McMillan A5 stock. He spent alot of hours not only building my gun, but teaching me about every step and showing me how precise and accurate his work was. After the gun was built, we went out back to test fire and even with shoot 1 clean 1 we were shooting 1/4moa or better from the beginning. After about 10 shots we stopped cleaning, and then I shot a 3 shot group that measured .128 moa. This is all with Black Hills 168 gr. factory match ammo. Joe had some reloads that he tried out and shot a .125 (1/8)moa. Now this is all with less than twenty shots on the rifle. I am currently putting together parts for a .338 Norma Magnum build and Joe will doing it. Although no one in this industry will guarantee a 1/8moa, I am living proof Joe is more than capable to produce the finest quality as well as some of the most accurate rifles you will find. And as long as he is building rifles he will be building mine.
