Colibri ammo or,,,?

Anybody shooting this stuff? Care to discuss what you think of it?
Is there a difference in Super colibri?
I shot just a few rounds of it a about 10 years ago. My impression of it then was that I had a better chance of hitting a target with a rock at 40yds. Now my kids are shooting pellet guns in the back yard (in city limits) and I'm tired of pumping.

I only have a lever action that will cycle it. Thinking of buying a one cock pellet gun. Maybe a RWS?

I have shot a couple bricks of both Colibri and Super Colibri. It is not very accurate beyond 20 yards and was not made to shoot well that far. The Colibri won't always clear the barrel of my .22 rifle. The Super variety will clear the barrel so I shoot the Colibri in my pistol and the Super in my rifle. The Super seems to be a little more accurate. I have shot a few bunnies with it and lots of blackbirds (in the back yard). When shot from my rifle it is quieter than my wife's pellet rifle but her pellet rifle is more accurate.

I have shot a few of the Super Colibri through a Rem 512 rifle and had a couple bullets stop about 3" short of the muzzle! Really quiet that way but hard to see where you hit! :) Wouldn't bet much on accuracy or function from what I have shot. Bought a brick 10yrs ago, gave away 3-4 boxes and shot a couple. It doesn't excite me much which is why I still have some!

I'll see if I can pick up a box off GB and just see what happens at 30yds in the back yard.

Don't need my arm twisted too hard to get a decent (accurate) pellet gun. :)

Thanks

novelty item at best imho i use my break action or i also have the cmmg 22 conversion kit and my can that makes my ar very quiet and accurate

The Colibri I shot wouldnt hit the floor if I dropped it. Awful accuracy.

I bought a Marauder and never looked back.

CCI Quiet is pretty good, especially in long barrels. My cz452 Lux has very quite muzzle report, after I miss the shot :o and the bullet slams into the tree, which makes more noise than the muzzle report. locally it goes for 5-9 bucks per 50. 710Fps with a 40 grain bullet I believe.

Spent the money on a one cock air gun , for your purposes they will be more accurate once the right pellet is found . The CCI quiet is good stuff but the cost of ammo will be way higher then pellets once you have a good pellet gun. The colibri ammo was not much use for anything and I believe experienced more riccochets with it then any ammo out there.

Depends of the firearm. I shoot both types in my pistol and rifle. Twist rate is everything. My pistol is a Smith and Wesson Model 41 in 7 in with 1 x 12 twist. Rifle is Stiller with 1 x 9 Lilja. Both faster than average twists for 22 rimfires. Both spin the bullet faster than 1 x 16 standard 22 twist. In the pistol their good for about 15 yards on birds for most part. Rifle about 25 yards. You can literally see the bullet down range. Accurate enough to plink pop cans but not furry pests. Quiet is the only reason I shoot them. Suppressed they are a lot quieter than any air rifle I've ever shot. Scott
