Coat cleaning

I recently aquired a used Creedmoor hardback coat ( Codura ) and was wondering how everyone who has them cleans it.. I read the instructions on the coat, but it seems as though that is meant for basic spot cleaning, I am looking to clean the whole coat, and was wondering if you can dry clean them. Thanks Bill

Do we clean our coats? Better call Creedmoor for advise - they sell a cleaner that frankly I have not used as of yet.

Hello, I have had two condura hardback coats. To clean them I simply put them in my bathtub and run water on them until they are nice and wet. Then I put liquid or powder detergent on them and scrub them with a handbrush. This usually cleans them up fairly well. Then I take them outside and hang them until they dry.

Dry cleaning chemicals likely will be the ruin of any rubber non-skid padding. There are untrasonic dry cleaners these days that use no chemicals, only water, which might work if you can find one.

I like the bathtub idea myself, just make sure you let your coat air dry properly before next use.

(My cordura's going on 9 years now with nothing but spot cleaning; I fitted it whilst wearing a medium sweatshirt, so all my sweat ends up in that rather than the coat. Much easier maintenance.)
